Two types of Subcontractor Labour only - these are usually employed directly by the company and paid directly by the company providing labour only and do not require their own insurance. Bona Fide - these are usually self employed and are skilled tradesmen i.e plumber, roofer and use their own materials/tools etc and are required to have insurance to the same level as the company i.e £5m Public Liability
