If your CPU is running high while running a particular program for a sustained amount of time is this bad for your computer in the long run?

[Edit]

Answer

No, not unless the CPU also raises above the safe temperature threshold and stays there for an extended period of time. Assuming by 'high' you mean CPU usage % as reported in Task manager or similar.
