what importance of project planning?

Project planning is one of the most important stages in Project Management because it defines what the project really is based on the requirements gathered (requirements gathering). The project plan will almost certainly change during the course of a project, so it should be constantly updated.

Without Project Planning, the project will most likely fail.

So that the outcome does not surprise you. Planning allows you to look at different options and choose the most appropriate to start with. It also allows you to have mitigation strategies (other options) should your initial plan run into trouble and not be deliverable. Planning also allows you to explore options you may not have initially considered, and pull together a coherent plan of other options rather than the first idea that came into your mind. Planning allows you to identify what you want to achieve so you know when to stop, and to monitor the progress as you proceed along the journey.
