In regards to adobe instalation failure what is error 1714?

Just download the MSI cleanup utility now if you are using Vista you may need to just read a little bit from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936647/en-us if you are using Windows XP then you can easily go to http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

Install the MSI Cleanup Utility and run it, you will find a list of the MSI installed, select the Adobe installation and remove them then install it again, this should definitely work.
