When measuring an unknown value of voltage the meter should be initially set to?

With an unknown voltage you should start out with the highest voltage setting on the meter. Doing this reduces the risk of "pegging" out the needle on an analog gauge or overloading the input of a DMM. Most DMM's are auto-ranging though.

When using a dvom to measure unknown voltage what setting?

Highest setting on the meter.Highest setting on the meter.

What dmv setting is used to measure power supply output voltage?

Dc V if you are measuring direct current. Ac V setting if measuring AC voltage. Recommend using a meter that's AUTO Ranging.

What should be the setting for a dual-voltage selector switch on a power supply when using a computer in the US?

The 110VAC to 125VAC range (not the 220VAC to 250VAC range).

Modern electronic multimeter measures resistances by?

forcing a constant current and measuring the voltage across the unknown resistor.

When measuring an unknown voltage with a multitester or analog VOM you should first?

Go to highest scale on AC range

When measuring an unknown voltage with an analog VOM you should first?

For any value turn the multimeter to the highest scale in the value that you are measuring. By doing this you will not overload the meter by using a lower scale to measure a higher value.

Unit for measuring voltage?

volts

What is the difference measuring in volts?

Voltage

When measuring voltage the probes should be connected in?

can some one please tell me when measuring voltage the probes should be connected to sequence or series?

How does the technique for measuring current with DMM differ from measuring voltage?

current is measured with the meter in series and voltage is measured with the meter in parallel of the load
