Same but different, North Island of NZ is beach at the North and then low rolling hills, some mountains and some fascinating geothermal sites. Via a fairly Metro Wellington to… the South Island. NZ population about 10% of Canada, 3.5 million +/-. Strong native (Maori) population. Strong historical traditions, not as much the melting-pot (yet). 80% of the total population lives on the "North" "The Great White Cloud", according to Polynesian legend, because of the mountains. NZ is small in square miles but not in heart. I live in Canada, been around a large chunk of this planet. I've visited NZ for a long period, and I may, lotto willing, retire there yet. Not a bad recommendation. Damn good beer, lousy ice hockey. World Class Rugby. Go the Blacks. Beautiful and kind women. Earthy but honest men. Never call a Kiwi an Aussie, or god forbid, a canuck. I wrote it, and now it's been flagged as offensive, abusive or inflammatory. It's an honest answer which contains no discrimination or foul language, unlike some others on other pages. Ergo sum, adios.
are both cool countries.
