no,no,no nobody knows when the world will end. God is the one who makes that decision and if you do not believe me tell me where in The Bible it says that the world is going to end in 2012 or 2051

Determinism says that there is a set date. But this would be a facet of religion, not science. There are many ways this planet, or the life on it, could end. But there would be no way to accurately predict it until we knew how it would happen.

It is assumed that the world is going to end in 2012, because the Mayan calendar ends with December 2012. The ancient Egyptians saw 2012 as a year of great change. There is even a movie called 2012 that was just released on Friday, November 13.

The Earth is not alive and therefore cannot "die" in the literal sense. In about 5 billion years the Sun is expected to expand into a red giant and it's uncertain whether Earth will be engulfed at that time or not. If not, it should remain in existence (as a cold ball of rock circling a white dwarf) until the end of the universe itself.

Well, the end of the Mayan calendar is in 2012, so I guess that's the next prediction. I would point out that this was featured in a Robert Heinlein Science Fiction story 50 years ago.

However, I would point out that EVERY prediction of the End of the World has, so far, not come true. The "End of the World" was predicted for the year 1000, based on a prediction that Jesus would return after 1000 years; then 1033, for 1000 years after the crucifixion. When that didn't happen, people predicted the end of the world every 50 years or so until 1900, when a lot of people started predicting the End of the World in 2000.

Al Gore and the global warming theorists have been predicting the end of civilization any day now, but it turns out that the math on that was all wrong. And Paul Ehrlich predicted - in 1970 - that by 1985, 75% of all people on Earth were going to starve. That didn't work out either.

It's 2008, and we're still here. "Prediction is very hard - especially about the future." This line is variously attributed to Mark Twain, Nels Bohr or Yogi Berra, but it's true in any case. We don't know when the world will end.

The Earth will likely survive for another 4 billion years or so, when the Sun will expand into a red giant. By then, we will certainly be able to move elsewhere.

The Mayan calendar predicts that it will happen on December 21, 2012. But the Bible indicates it will not happen for another few billion years as that is supposed to be when the sun engulfs the planet.

the world will never end as long as we pray and believe God has mercy on us. It was in the Bible. He made a rainbow in the sky meaning he promised he will never cause a huge flood like he did before. As long as one person in the world is praying, the world will not end. Even if you are a kid or adult. So... PLEASE PRAY!
