Thors Walden is a name that is shortened for Bertel Thorvaldsen... you can find his sculptures on this site: http:/www.froola.com/D/A/Danish_sculptors. The name of the sculpture you are wanting to see is "Cristo". This site has two images of this sculpture. The following links will take you to the statue JC (Jon Courson) is referring too. It was hard to find because the artist goes under another name "Thorvaldsen Bertel". But I was determined to find it.
By the way when I saw the statue I realized it's the replica of one that is standing at the "Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints"...Mormon Visiting Center in Los Angeles. And I have seen it and it's more then life size ...it's huge! And when you stand under it you can see His face...I'ts beautiful because He looks as if He's staring right at YOU whether you move to the left or right. It was years ago, yet I can remember it gave me the chills...good chills that is!!

The Christ the Redeemer is located on Corcovado mountain. It is found in Rio de Janeiro. The mountain is found in the Tijuca Forest National Park and overlooks the city.

"Cristo Roto" (Broken Christ) is a Mexican legend about a broken statue of Jesus that is believed to have performed miracles. The story goes that a group of prisoners found the statue in a river and brought it to a church where it started to work miracles. People from all over Mexico pilgrim to the statue seeking miracles and blessings.
