Pumice is a vesiculated igneous rock, meaning that it has tiny pockets of gas trapped inside. These pockets of gas cause pumice to have a very low density. Pumice is usually (though not always) a felsic rock, meaning that it has a high silica content. It is formed when lava is ejected from a volcano. As it cools, gases come out of solution and form bubbles. These bubbles are trapped as the pumice solidifies. It usually forms in areas where felsic volcanic activity is high, which includes continental hot spots and continental volcanic arcs. Composite volcanoes are highly felsic, so any location where composite volcanoes occur, such as Mt. Fuji, Japan, is a prime location for pumice formation. Other volcano types, such as shield volcanoes or cinder cones, may also produce pumice.
Pumice can be found around areas of volcanoes that have, or are, producing ejected felsic, frothy lava. Areas surrounding subduction volcanoes are good candidates for the discovery of pumice.
In areas of past or present explosive felsic volcanism.
Pumice rocks are found where volcanoes are. Pumice is a volcanic rock. It is formed from lava. However, you should know that not all volcanic eruptions produce pumice.
Pumice is molten rock (which has cooled) that's been ejected from a live volcano.

There are multiple ferns that are rare in the world. It is unknown which is the rarest. Some of these rare ferns include the pumice moonwort, the ribbon fern, and the pumice grape fern.
Not usually, unless it was buried after forming. Pumice is formed during volcanic eruptions from material that is blasted into the air before falling back to earth.

Pumice is usually found around the shore of beaches and rivers, due to the lightness in weight.
Large amounts of pumice are found in Italy, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Canada, and parts of the United States, especially the Rocky Mountain and Pacific Coast states. In many of these locations, pumice is mined to be sold for a variety of uses.

Pumice usually does not contain minerals. it is made of glass. A few microscopic crystals of quartz or feldspar may be found here or there in the glassy groundmass.
