In which language babar wrote his autobiography? |
[Edit] |
Although Babur hailed from the Barlas tribe which was of Mongol origin, his tribe had embraced Turkic[7] and Persian culture,[3][8][9] converted to Islam and resided in Turkestan and Khorasan. His mother tongue was the Chaghatai language (known to Babur as Turkī, "Turkish") and he was equally at home in Persian, the lingua franca of the Timurid elite;[10] he wrote his famous memoirs, the Bābunāma, in the former language, that of his birthplace, though his prose was highly Persianized in its sentence structure, morphology, and vocabulary.[11]
Babur was a poetic genius and his creations have been compiled as an autobiography known as Babar-nameh. They were translated into Persian during the rule of Akbar. They were then translated into English during 1921-22 and the compilation was titled "Memoirs of Babar". One finds valuable information in these works and they define Babar as someone who was very noble and kind hearted. He was a very witty person who had a streak of adventure and a keen eye for natural beauty.
