∙ 10y agoTo restore your iPod with the error code 1439 try holding down the select and menu buttons at the same time for about six seconds. This action should reset your iPod. You also may need to install a new version of iTunes on your PC or Mac.

∙ 14y agoOpen "My Computer" go to the drive that is your ipod. Then simply defragment the drive. You will lose everything that was on the ipod (music, tv shows, etc) but at least it works now.

You first need to put it in DFU mode, then restore, or if you are trying to Jailbreak it, you need to restore to OriginalFW.ipsw and then follow the jailbreak instructions.
