132 for the systolic is at the high end of the normal range.

98 for the diastolic is considered mild hypertension.

Yes it is, the diastolic pressure (102) is something that needs to be looked at and corrected. Decreasing salt intake can help, but you do need to see a physician.

What should your blood pressure be if you weigh 102 pounds at only 18 years old?

Blood pressure is considered normal if within a certain specified range for anyone over the age of approximately 12, regardless of weight, height, or gender. You should strive for a blood pressure that is less than 120 over 80 on average (small peaks are normal and not a cause for concern). If you are over 160 over 100, you should see a doctor immediately, as you are at high risk for heart failure. Anything over 120 over 80 may become problematic, so you should try and lower it through exercise, healthy eating, and staying away from stimulants such as nicotine, caffeine, and most illegal substances, which are generally illegal because of their effects on health.

A normal resting heart rate for a 6 year old child is between 18 and 30 beats per minute. The normal blood pressure is 70 over 120. You should seek medical attention right away.

Can lamictal cause high blood pressure?

My blood pressure was in the low normal range prior to taking lamotrigene/lamictal but it seemed to be getting higher at later Dr visits.- Now, after being on it for nearly a year, my last blood pressure readings were 145/86 & 169/102. I am 50 years old, and have no family history of hypertension. Apparently it is a rare side effect (one my neurologist didn't think important enough to mention!)

What is normal blood pressure rate for a male?

Normal blood pressure is a reading under 120/80 Anything over that and you have:Pre-hypertension which is when you have a reading between this and 140/90High blood pressure is anything over this. (i.e. if the diastolic is over 90 OR the systolic is over 140 - or both - then you are diagnosed with hypertension.)The diagnosis is not made on one reading alone as blood pressure fluctuates. It is best to have a number of readings (an good automatic home monitor will give good results) to give you an idea of how your pressure behaves and what level it is at for most of the time. These levels have been chosen from research studies that have looked at levels of complications (like stroke or heart disease) with different levels of blood pressure in large populations. Therefore 120/80 represents a level chosen because overall, people under this level have far less complications. You do not want to be higher, but if your blood pressure is lower, (say 110/70) then it is even better. In fact the lower the better as long as it doesnt go so low as to give you symptoms. Some people exist happily with a BP of 90/60 for example, others whose 'normal' level is higher would get symptoms at this level. Finally, the target blood pressures are lower for people who have other cardiovascular risk factors. So for example if you have diabetes the level at which you would consider yourself as hypertensive is 135/85.
