Although 120/80 is considered normal, 140 is considered slightly high. So a 143 is slightly high. It is a good idea to have a doctor check this level. However, at 79 years old I would not be concerned with this pressure. It isn't that far from a good range.
I Am not a doctor , thats average , just below hypertension , As long as it is not 140 / 90 , you should be fine , If you walk 20 minutes everyday , I bet your blood pressure would even be better and avoid eating or adding Salt to your Diet , My Blood pressure was 130 /70 and my Doc put me on a very low dose Blood Pressure pill , I am not sure why he would have me on a pill ?? He likes the top number to be lower than 120 thats the reason , I am 55 years old , with the pill my blood pressure is like 125 / 66 , depending on the day , You have to take it say 3 different times a day , Then get a average , Hope this helped you , I think you are fine and keep up the good work.
Blood pressure is made of two reading, one when the heart is pumping and one when the heart is relaxing.
The 144 is when it is pumping, and 98 is when it is relaxed.
From what i know, the blood pressure should only have about a 40 difference.
144-98= 46
and if you take age+100=the pressure when the heart is pumping.
59+100=159. but this is just a guide, not perfect.
hope this helps.
Yes, it is an absolutely fantastic blood pressure for a 70-year old, great job and keep doing whatever you are doing! Anything below 120/80 and above 90/60 is good, 140/90 and above would be hypertension (high blood pressure). Generally blood pressure increases with age due to various factors such as atherosclerosis, and the fact that you have a normal blood pressure is a sign that you are still in good health.
it's a tad on the high side how long before reading b/p did you eat? that could play a part in elevated b/p. also retest after a few minutes it will probally go down
yes
170/80
Its sure not good
The 143 over 84 blood pressure is not okay. You should however ave at least three readings and talk to your doctor.
yes both are high numbers, but the 143 diastolic is VERY high... almost twice as high as it should be... this is the realm we call in the clinic as stroking out... and yes as in having a stroke. go see a DR NOW!
If your blood pressure is 94 over 54 it means that you have quite a low blood pressure, but as long as you feel fine there is no reason for concern.
143/70 blood pressure assumed normal blood pressure for a 67 year male.
A rate of 45 bpm is very slow, you should see your doctor. The 143/71 is not too bad though.
Husband is 63 so we were wondering. It probably is not so good. The 143 is higher than normal and the 63 is lower than normal. You should call your doctor with that information and probably get an appointment for an exammination.
120 over 80 is kinda textbook the norm. so 143 over 80 would be high, but it also depends on what is normal for the individual & the age & even meds. But most would say that needs to come down.
100/143 = 69.93%rounded
Normal blood pressure is 120/80 or below. 120-139/80-90 is considered prehypertension. 140-59/90-99 is stage 1 hypertension and 160+/100 or more is stage 2 hypertension. If you have high blood pressure you should speak to your doctor about some lifestyle changes and/or medications.
120/143 is in its simplest form.
220/143 = 20/13
