Yes, that is normal. Here is a general standard of pulse rate (PR).

Resting Pulse Rate

PR < 40 BMP - Below healthy resting heart rates.

PR 40-60 BPM - Resting heart rate for sleeping.

PR 60-100 BPM - Healthy adult resting heart rate.

PR 100 BPM - 220 BPM - Acceptable if measured during exercise. Not acceptable if resting heart rate.

PR > 220 BPM - Abnormally high heart rate.

That seems like a question that is too specific for an accurate answer. You most likely should consult your doctor for that kind of insight. There's a lot more to a good heart rate than a number.

Well, I am 22 and mine is between 52 and 55 bpm during a typical relaxed state evreytime I measure it. 2 different doctors told me on the spot that this is a good thing. They have also looked at my x-rays and did a full exam on me because I am paranoid and not easily convinced. They both told me I have a very healty heart and explained basically that the rate is slightly slow because it working effortlessly.

The doctor also told me that some people have Bradycardia which causes the heart rate to be slower than average.

Bradycardia, in a nutshell, is basically a problem with the heart's electrical system, it can be caused by excessive resistance to the heart's output such as impedance in the arteries and veins. Some symptoms of bradycardia are excessively large pulses, chest pains, nausia and loss of energy, particularly during excercise.

It can be caused by things like too much potassium in the bloodstream, some medications such as benzo and also high chlorseterol.

My conclusion is this: If you are 45 and your heart rate is 53 in a average relaxed state, it is likely that you have a healthier than average heart given you don't have Bradycardia symptoms.

I am not a doctor, however, if you are concerned about something to do with your heart you should see one asap.

Long live you!

-Mike

How slow can a human heart beat?

60-80 beats per minute is about normal for most adults. Faster rate with exercise etc. Children and especially infants hearts beat more rapidly 120-130 not uncommon. When the heart is beating faster that this it is working too hard. The faster it beats the less adequate the circulation. The heart pumps the blood back through the entire body. If it is pumping too fast the body isn't getting good oxygen supply. A heart can beat up to about 300 beats a min but that is way too fast and this is an emergency situation where the heart is beating so fast it is just quivering and not really pumping.

What is the most a human heart beats per minute?

the average is 70 but sports training will condition the heart to beat slower. Jean claude Van Damme in his best days of physical shape had a heart beat of 50 pulse per minute. that is outstanding shape. Never the less you have to concider also that low heart beat can mean a bad heart condition also since a previous heart attack can make your heart beat slower for the rest of your life.

How many heart beats does a hedgehog do per minutes?

The heart rate of a hedgehog (or any animal) is dependent on a number of environmental factors. But on average, studies have shown that a hedgehog's resting heart rate is in the range of 190 to 280 beats per minute and about 147 beats per minute when sleeping.190 to 280 times per minuite! This depends on if the hedgehog is in hibernation mode or not. A hedgehog with normal activity who is not in hibernation mode has approximately 190 beats per minute. On the other hand, a hedgehog who has gone into hibernation mode will sometimes be mistaken for a hedgehog who has passed. His body temperature will drop 20% or more and his heart rate will be as low as 20 beats per minute. He will also be lethargic and may be extremely hard to wake up.Hedgehogs normal heart beat is around 190 per minute but when they hibernate, their heart beat falls dramatically to 20 beats per minute.
