Is Affina group Inc. a scam? |
[Improve]
Affina Group Inc., is apparently an auto/parts dealership in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It does not appear to have any involvement in Internet sales or financial transactions.
However, I received a standard trolling email from an alleged representative of Affina Group Inc. through Careerbuilder, advising me that I qualified as a Financial Manager and that I could make $4500 working from home. That didn't sound quite right.
I have no experience or training in sales, management, marketing, or finance. I'm a computer geek. The email then went on to explain some of the details of the Financial Agent position, making this much money working 2-3 hours per day. Financial Agent? I thought it was a Financial MANAGER position. An 8% commission was mentioned. How is this management?
No website was listed in the job offer emailed to me. No phone number or address was given. Only an email address was provided.
The website for Affina (NOT Affina Group, Inc.) is apparently for a company specializing in outsourcing customer service, and offers positions working at home for 8 to 10 dollars an hour. It is NOT related to the email I was sent.
HOWEVER, the contents of the email are almost identical to a well-known, money laundering scam run by a company allegedly named Massive Group, Inc., that is based in Russia. They operate under dozens of different company names, and it appears that they have used a legitimate business name to hide behind in this case. I advise doing a Google search for Massive Group, and checking to see if you've received an email that looks very much like what is posted under the fraud warnings. Mine was.
