Is Allah God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob?

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was known in the Hebrew language by four consonants that translate into our language as YHWH. Many scholars feel that the bname may have been pronounced "Yahweh" in the Hebrew language. The English equvalent to Yahewh is Jehovah.

Side point: We do that withother Biblical names as well, for instance it is believed that Jesus name may have been pronounced Yeshua in Hebrew, but scholars are not really sure how it was pronounced either.

Interestingly though, The word Allah is not actually a name at all. It is an arabic word meaning "God." The word God is not a name, but rather it is a title, like President, Chief, Judge, etc.

The word Allah has come to be considered the name for God in the Muslim religion, but it never was a name.

In that sence, you could say yes, Allah was the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because Allah means "God." But the name of their God is Yahweh(Hebrew) or Jehovah(English).

There are others however that would argue than no Allah is not the same God worshipped by Abraham, and Moses. There is archeological evidence that suggests that Islam is a modern version of anancient fertility moon god. "Allah" May come from All-li-lah a cheif pagan god, that was know to the people of the Arabian pennisula. This may explain the crecent as the symbol of Islam.

The moon god was worshipped by praying toward Mecca several times a day, making an annual pilgrimage or hajj to the Kabah in mecca which was a center for the worship of pagan dieties. Running around the Kabah seven times, kissing a black stone were pagan rites practiced by the Arabs long before Muhammad was born, and are still being performed by Muslims world wide today.

Mohammed's full name seems to be Mohammed ibn Abdullah. If we disect his name we find that Ibn means "son of", and Abdul- means "servant of the" with the second part -lah defining that which is served in this case God. In other word Mohammed;s name means Mohammed son of the servent of allah (God) So Mohammed s own name seems to imply that Allah was known before Mohammed's birth.
