Is Autism an intellectual disability?

Answer:
Generally, no. However, depending on where you are on the spectrum, you have a higher risk of being retarded. For example, people with Asperger's are generally normal. Many are actually quite bright. On the other end of the spectrum, severely autistic kids many times have IQ's very low, even in the 50 range.
