It depends on which side you ask. If you ask Democrats, they will say President Obama has done many important things, including expanding health care to millions of Americans, ending the war in Iraq and bringing the troops home, and rescuing the American auto industry. If you ask Republicans, they will say he has been a failure because he has not reduced the deficit or improved the economy. Many Americans seem to like this president, and he was elected to serve a second term. But like many presidents before him, he is a very polarizing figure: people seem to either really approve of the job he has done, or really disapprove of it. There seems to be no middle ground.
This is yet to be seen. And whether or not he is one depends on who you ask and what polls you read. There are wildly varying opinions of him, from madly in love to blind hatred.
It will be much easier to assess his presidency some years after the fact.
This is a question that calls for an opinion, and we try very hard to be neutral and objective on this site. So, let me quote from his supporters. The people who believe Mr. Obama is a good president would say he inherited a serious mess from President Bush and that his policies saved the economy from a depression. They would say he has pursued economic strategies that helped the middle class (including two tax cuts), and he saved the US auto industry from going bankrupt. They would also note that he has kept America safe, led the mission that killed Osama bin Laden, put new oversight on banks, championed a new health care law that will expand coverage to millions of Americans, and appointed two qualified women to the Supreme Court. They would also note that despite constant Republican obstructionism, and a record number of filibusters, he has continued to try to keep the country moving forward, and as a result, he deserves a second term.
Each of us has to make that decision for ourselves after we have found out the facts. So much of the information being spread is just flat wrong. Don't believe it because someone says it as if it were true, research yourself (kudos for asking this question). But whether you like his policies or dislike them, there is little evidence that he has been bad for the country so far. Some of the current problems will take a while to resolve, and are as much about congress and the global economy as they are about who is the person in the White House.
For many opinions on what he has done right or wrong so far, see the related questions below. Remember, these are opinions of Answers.com contributors and may not be based on facts. It is also worth noting that the president has been elected twice (2008 and 2012), and he won by a considerable majority both times, which says that many people do think he is doing a good job.
You might also want to check out some of the reliable (and non-partisan) fact-checking sites, which analyze exaggerations and myths about the president. I recommend factcheck.org, politifact.com and snopes.com as three sites you may find useful. Also, there are objective news magazines like Time (which is online or at the newstand) and USA Today that cover the president in a fair and generally accurate manner.
Good president. But he believes Muslim people.
Definitely. Bush is considered to be a fairly bad president.
i thik he want's him to be the president but to bad for him obama wom the election
I would say President Barack Obama for leaving the troops in Libya and his horrible Middle East policies and the bad economy. But he is way too resent as well as Biden. So I would say James Buchanan for post civil war policies and tearing the Union apart. But if you include recent presidents itβs Obama.
Because President Barack Obama has screwed it all up.
Barack Obama is still alive because he is a former President of the United States who left office in January 2017. There is no information or reason to suggest otherwise.
Not bad.
bad
of course he's bad!
I believe he is a better president. Since President Obama is a president during a recession many people think he is bad at his job. But in fact(in my opinion) President Bush caused that, he made many mistakes and it just happened that President Obama was to become the next president.
No. This is an internet myth that started when she stated on the show that she was Barack Obama's step daughter. But it is not true. President Obama does not have a step-daughter.
You may not like the president, but he is certainly not a "bad guy" and he never killed anyone, ever.
Barack Obama's mother married a man named Barack Obama who named their new baby Barack Obama. When he was about 2 years old his father left. His mother remarried a few years later to a man named Lolo Soetoro. At this point he started using the name Soetoro. Then when Obama was about 10 his mother divorced Lolo Soetoro. She eventually went back to using Obama as did her son Barack. That is why there is confusion about Barack Obama's name. Barack Obama is our President's true name.
