Yes. He was killed in an automobile accident on August 17, 2007 in Houston, Texas. The police report stated that Griffin ignored or never noticed a railroad warning and his car struck a moving train. Toxicology tests put his blood alcohol content at .26, three times above the legal limit in Texas.
