We often prescribe Biaxin (the generic name is clarithromycin) for infections such as bronchitis, strep throat, pneumonia, ear infections, sinus infections, or tonsillitis.
Hope this helps!

Bactrim, otherwise known as Co-trimoxazole, is a sulfa drug used for various bacteria-causing infections in areas such as urinary tract, lungs (pneumonia), ears, and intestines.
Although Co-trimoxazole can be used for lung problems, such as Bronchitis, there are some studies out there stating that individuals have had decreased lung function from use. With that said, it is an effective, inexpensive antibiotic in treating Bronchitis but it is recommended to see your doctor if you have had respiratory issues, transplants, or aren't sure.
If the diease is caused by a bacterial infection it can be treated with the correct antibiotic. Often a specimen of sputum is tested to identify the correct treatment.
Antibiotics can be used to cure bronchitis, if the bronchitis is caused by a bacterial infection. Otherwise antibiotics will have no effect on bronchitis.
yes sulfa - matha can be used
Yes but its usually used 2nd line
Acute bronchitis is normally viral, and is not curable with antibiotics.
amxicellin
Penicillin
Most bronchitis is viral and can't be cured by antibiotics. When antibiotics are tried, penicillin is not on the list.
Not usually, because there are antibiotics that work better. The Sulfas are usually used in the treatment of bladder infections. However, if a patient is allergic to some antibiotics, then Triple Sulfa can be used to treat bronchitis. It is not the 'drug of choice' though.
Most cases of bronchitis are caused by a viral infection. Since antibiotics, such as amoxil, do not affect viral infections, they do not help treat them. Risk factors for bacterial bronchitis include a history of emphysema or chronic bronchitis, an immunocompromised condition (AIDS, on chronic steroids or chemotherapy), or a prior viral illness (such as bronchitis) that gets better and then gets worse acutely.
Antibiotics

Antibiotics only cure bacterial infections. Antibiotics will not cure a viral infection.
