Who is Dr. Chi Sun Kim? He is the first doctor of Theology to study in the United States and to return to Korea. Each year churches across Korea honor Chi Sun Kim's legacy.
Why would all the churches honor Chi Sun Kim? During the 1950's and 1960's, Chi Sun Kim was a key figure in the Transmission of Faith into the Nation of Korea, effecting major religious and political changes. Chi Sun Kim and his son, Samuel, watched the nation of Korea transform from a Buddhist country into the Christian country that it is known for today. His university was the first of its kind, enabling Korean men and women to study the Word of God and commissioning them to plant churches and spread God's Word throughout the country and world. An extension of Chi Sun Kim's ministry in Korea is his son, Samuel Saychang Kim, establishing California State Christian University in 1972.
What makes California State Christian University so special? Although it has its roots deep in the ministry of a school established in Korea, a Christian Legacy that changed a nation is on a structural renaissance. The future of California State Christian University looks bright. Partnering with sister colleges and universities from around the globe, it is training men and women in their post secondary studies to spread God's word and make a difference in people's lives.
