Although the book is of fiction e.g the character Robert Langdon, all key places, inventions, art and famous figures are indeed factual.
Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code was created out of elaborate research. Accurate recordings of history are made in almost all pages of the book, the truth behind which are undisputable. The question of whether the church should be recognized primarily and originally as a Matriarchial Establishment or a Patriarchial Establishment has been a controversial one through the centuries. If someone was born of a father and mother, she or he certainly would have relatives and a family tree. Was it not due to undue domination of males in the church that the family line of Mary was obscured? That is the question raised by the book. How can this question be considered irrelevant, illogical, unsubstantial and anti-historical? Dan Brown's book is not pure fiction. It is pure history clothed and masked in beautiful fiction and fancy.
I wish it was!At the start of the book it says that all the facts in it about Mary Magdalene and everything is true,
