No. Fressia may be able to grow back in the warmer climates of zone 9 through 11. You can grow them in colder climates, but you will need to replant them every spring. Dig up corms in the fall and refrigerate over the winter for spring planting.

In their native Africa, freesias are perennials. If you live in the US, you'll have to dig up the freesia corms every season and mimic the precise temperature and humidity changes necessary for the corm to reproduce foliage and flowers year after year. So the answer is "yes" in their native environment, and "probably not" in any zone of the US. Most here plant them as annuals, and they are quite easy to grow and care for in that regard.
