In modern belief, God is immanent - he is omnipresent and pervades the whole universe. But that was not the case for the authors of the Book of Genesis. The Yahwist Source, one of the major contributors to the book now known as Genesis, particularly saw God as anthropomorphic, having quite human characteristics. We see this in Genesis 3:8, where God walked in the garden in the cool of the day, and talked to Adam and Eve, face to face.

Verses such as Genesis 24:3 are intended to mean that God is omnipresent. But it is stated more explicitly elsewhere (such as Deuteronomy 4:39 and Jeremiah 23:24).

What is an immanent religion?

You may need to clarify your question. Generally speaking Christian theologians differentiate between the opposite concepts of "immanence" and "transcendence" which serve as opposite ends of a spectrum related to the nature of God's relationship to creation. In that context, an "immanent" religious tradition is one in which the god or gods are present in a tangible way in the material world.
