They do not get the best reviews. You will either get a decent one or a problematic one. A TV is a fairly big purchase. Put a little more money into it and get a proven brand like Samsung.
Insignia
There are virtually no bad televisions on the market today. What is most important is that you enjoy watching a television if you are about to buy it. Experience Insignia televisions, compare them to other brands and make you decision based on how much you like the image. If you enjoy watching an Insignia and it's at the right price point, then it's probably a good buy for you.

An Insignia plasma tv will last as long as any other set...that is until it breaks. Thanks for the question.
Insignia TVs are made from parts from a couple different companies. The main two companies that provide the displays for Insignia TVs are LG and Samsung, but there are many unnamed companies that create the other components.

I just approached this problem, I connected the antenna into the Insignia, an from the Insignia to the Tivo (Series 2), then from the Tivo into the TV. This way I watch Tivo and use the Insignia channels when I change to (Tivo) channel 3. Perhaps not a perfect solution but gives me both of their full capabilites.
