Is J.K. Rowling an atheist?

[Edit]

No, J.K. Rowling is a member of the Church of Scotland. However, she stated on an episode of the Today Show that her books, particularly her seventh, did come into conflict with her beliefs and caused her some consternation.

Answer

She is indeed a Christian, but not a strict one. As you may remember in many states in America they banned Harry Potter, mass burnings of the books, parents not wanting their children to read them, all this came because Harry Potter series were all about WitchCraft and magic.
