Is Kia a high tolerance engine that has to be replaced if the timing belt breaks?

[Edit]

Answer

I think you are referring to the term Interference Engine. This means that if the timing belt breaks, engine damage will occur to the valve train and or pistons. The way to prevent this from happening is to replace the timing belt as outlined in your owners manual. This can be from 60,000 to 90,000 miles, depending on your engine. Look in your owners manual or call a Kia dealer to acquire the interval for replacing the timing belt. Replace the belt at the proper time and you will not have to worry.

Hello,

I'd say every 30,000 miles, cuz that is a small engine. Now, about it being a KIA, its like buying food marked "Pathmark nofrills", and no, its not high toleraance. But, its still a car. Watch the oil, and if you drive this car like its the only pair of shoes you own, change it and the filter every 4 months, with Castrol.
