Me personally, I think he was a good man, he made mistakes and got pushed by his wife, it wasn't really his thought although he could of controlled him self and said no to her. So yeah, it's entirely up to you.

∙ 12y agoMacbeth is a protagonist. The play is about him. Macduff is the antagonist. Macbeth does not redeem himself in the end. His life has been drained of all meaning. He is tired of it. He does not want to fight the last battle but he has no choice ("They have chained me to the stake; I cannot fly"). Likewise he would just as soon not fight Macduff, but he has to, because Macduff threatens to cage him up and have people throw vegetables at him. Macbeth then agrees to fight because of his pride, just about the last thing left to him. That is hardly a redemption.

∙ 11y agoIn Shakespeare's play, both. Macbeth was a hero in fighting in some of the battles to protect Scotland from the Norwegians, where he led the army and fought like a demon. But he is also a murderer since he is persuaded by his wife to kill his cousin, King Duncan, in his sleep.
