I got the OK from my OB to take Motrin for my severe sinus headaches up to my 20th week. After that, because it does have some anticoagulant properties, it was off limits to make sure there wouldn't be any excessive bleeding either for myself or for the baby at delivery. YMMV, consult your own OB.

∙ 12y agoIt was on the approval list that my doctor gave me. You should ask your primary doctor to give you an approval list of medicines that you can take before you do take the Tylenol because things may have changed since I was pregnant. With the Tylenol and any other medicine please consult your doctor before taking anything.

∙ 13y agoAbsolutely not. Motrin is ibuprofen, which is not to be taken along with several other types of pain medications/anti-inflammitories. Tylenol is safe to take during pregnancy, but only the recommended dosage. Motrin and these other medicines are sometimes prescribed to pregnant women for various reasons, but these women are usually in their second trimester, and they are under the care of a medical professional who is monitoring the fetus' vitals.
