No. For one thing, baked beans do not necessarily contain pork. Also, baked beans are generally sweeter than pork and beans.
no bean paste is thicker than bean sauce eg. bean paste goes on the bottom of a pizza and bean sauce would go on top.
They used to be eaten in the Navy - i.e. the armed forces. The name has nothing to do with the colour.
