Yes its still dangerous, why because theres lot of gangs and thugs in the downtown area that you will find. And the place that i used to live was near Newark where it was dirty and poor. If you want live in a better place in New Jersey you should go to Bloomfield NJ. they have better schools for kids and teens. you should go there
