Nine Inch Nails is not satanic but they are anti religious. If you read their lyrics and read between the lines this becomes very clear. They are completely against the judeo christian concepts of the afterlife and such.

hey God

why are you doing this to me?

am i not living up to what i'm supposed to be?

why am i seething with this animosity?

hey God

i think you owe me a great big apology.

this is is self explanatory.... but what about this one?

I'd listen to the words he'd say

but in his voice I heard decay

the plastic face forced to portray

all the insides left cold and gray

there is a place that still remains

it eats the fear it eats the pain

the sweetest price he'll have to pay

the day the whole world went away

self explanatory as well... This to me reminds of one day when I was in church and the preacher was blabbing about jesus, and this song started in my head and i happen to look up and the plastic jesus on the wall, and it all became clear to me... their lyrics are about how people who don't subscribe to the judeo christian dualist believe of good vs evil, they're alienated... their songs may seem depressing to some, but they're actually talking about hope of some kind in different light.

some satanist may find that their lyrics have a satanic message.

humanist may feel that their lyrics agree with them in ways.

the same with atheist, luciferians, and other groups who despise the judeo christian dualist believe of good vs evil...

No, they are actually quite anti-Christian, according to their lyrics...

In the song "Terrible Life," a portion of the lyrics go:

hey god, why are you doing this to me?

am i not living up to what I'm supposed to be?

why am i seething with this animosity?

hey god, i think you owe me a great big apology

terrible lie!

and then in "Head Like a Hole":

god money I'll do anything for you

god money just tell me what you want me to

god money nail me up against the wall

god money don't want everything he wants it all

They also made a song called Heresy that said, "God is dead and no one cares. If there is a Hell, I'll see you there."

Reznor states that he is agnostic/atheist.

his lyrics could be using irony, but Trent Razor, before he founded N.I.N., was in Marilyn Manson's band to do the album "Anti-Christ Superstar"....

So there is some evidence for you, and it's probably best to stay away from them, as it is Marilyn Manson, if you're worried about Christianity. Hope this helps!

Trent Reznor and his band are not openly racist, no. But there is no way to know what goes on inside a person's head. If a person thinks racist thoughts, but never speaks them, you might never know they were racist.

Well, nowadays satanism is commonly confused with the New Age movements. Primarily because it's philosophies suggest some "disturbing" realities of our existence. Disturbing for some, exciting for others. The New Age movement is basically this, nothing is natural, everything is supernatural. That the world we see is literally an illusion. That we're not humans with souls, but rather souls inhabiting human bodies temporarily to experience the joys of human life, as well as the sorrows. For example, when you wake up from an intense dream and say to yourself "jeez i'm sure glad that wasn't real." or "whoa.. i'm glad that wasn't actually me". That's the same realization you get once you've died and left your body.

So no, they're not satanic, they're New Age. In fact, all bands that you'd question for being satanic are probably New Age.
