Old Capulet doesn't talk to his daughter often in this play - he seems to be more comfortable talking to men than to women. But in the largest conversation they have (Act 3. Scene 5) he talks to his daughter in verse.
Shakespeare's play is written in both, but mostly poetry. Brooke's poem is all poetry, of course.
