Slovenia is a member of the EU, and is a Central European Country.
Slovenia is the western-most county of the Former Yugoslavia, and the western-most Balkan country. It borders Italy, Hungary, Austria, Croatia, and the Adriatic Sea.
It achieved it's independence from Yugoslavia on June 25, 1991.
Slovenia became a member of the European Union on May 1, 2004.
It converted to the Euro (from Slovenian Tolars) on January 1, 2007.
It is also a Schengen Border country.
