The May, 2011 ending was left open, but the series is not likely to resurface. There was much dissatisfaction among the fan base, although some of the 2nd season shows were a vast improvement. Most fans hoped for the "space Opera" aspect to continue after Stargate, rather than the introspective and claustrophobic "Universe" world.
