TIME appears to have a fairly balanced perspective on most issues, and also tends to present both sides on a number of key issues. They don't generally express an obviously biased opinion on one side of the fence or the other. Interestingly, the magazine was founded by a conservative and for many years was center-right, but these days, Time is known for having columnists who hold a wide range of perspectives, and for covering the news accurately.
TIME is not "fairly balanced" at all. They lean left on most issues of the day. Michael Grunwald is TIME's senior national correspondent and he is liberal as they come. He once chastised liberals for not supporting Obama enough before the election in an article titled 'Earth to the Left: Obama Is Into You.' Just take a look at who they name as TIME Magazine Person of the Year every year.
The Nazi politics were to the extreme right of centerist, Judism was left of center because many Jewish social advocates were liberal or even socialist, and Communism while new as a World phenomenon wasn't conservative and deserved contempt.
The Social Democratic Party (SPD) in Germany during 1918 was not conservative but rather a center-left party. While it did have some moderate conservative elements, especially in the early 20th century, the SPD remained committed to socialist principles and advocated for workers' rights and social reforms. However, it is important to note that the political landscape and ideologies can evolve over time.

Yes and no. Its editorial page has a tendency to lean liberal (it should be noted that this was not always the case), but its reporting is generally objective. Many conservatives like to insist the Times is liberal because of its opinion columnists, but the majority of newspapers separate their opinion pages from the rest of the newspaper-- for example, the Wall Street Journal's opinion pages are quite conservative and Republican, whereas the rest of the paper tends to be fairly objective business reporting. The same is true for the Times: it has some famous liberal commentators (and some famous conservative commentators too) but its reporting is known for being centrist.
I would say UT is relatively conservative for a university, although still left of center. The main UT campus is probably the most liberal place in the state of TN. Anywhere that has a high concentration of intelligent, educated people will tend toward the liberal side.
Fortune magazine is generally considered to be a center-left publication, known for its focus on business and economics with a progressive slant. It covers a wide range of topics beyond politics, including technology, finance, and innovation.
Conventionally, "right" refers to the more conservative political faction and "left" refers to the more liberal faction. The Democratic Party is a center-left party.
The political spectrum is seen as having two ends, left and right. Moderate is usually considered somewhere in the middle. When someone in a democratic society considers another "too liberal", it means they consider that person's views as extremely left of center. In contrast, when referring to someone as "too conservative", it implies someone leans too far to the right of center. In a closed society such as Communist or Socialist, the opposite is true. "Far left" is considered extremely conservative and "far right" as being too liberal.
