Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland could be described as a sequel to the books, as the events in the film take place several years after those in the original stories.

It is an extension of Lewis Carroll's books. It is not related to the 1951 Disney animated film or any other film adaptation. In the new film, Alice has already been to Wonderland but has forgotten. She visits all her old friends but the Red Queen has taken over so Alice has to stop her.
