It's a common misconception that everyone's blood pressure should be 120/80. That is wrong.
You need to rely on an average reading of your blood pressure. This should be done several times throughout the day, over a two week period. For instance, take your blood pressure when you wake up, and again three hours later, and again three hours after that, etc, for two weeks. You should also keep record of any activities you were participating in, or had recently participated in (within the previous 2 hours). You should also note your mood at the time of the reading. For instance, were you fighting with your spouse? Did you stub your toe or twist your ankle, or otherwise injure yourself? These are important, as events such as these will give a false reading of your average bp. It is recommended you take your bp when you're going through a routine day.
If you don't have any days that aren't stressful, you need to work on stress management, find the cause of your stress, and work toward a more peaceful lifestyle. Stress brings about high blood pressure, and high blood pressure can lead to cardiovascular issues.
Moreover, the following blood pressure readings might help. Keep in mind these should be based on a two week period, where you're testing your BP every day, several times per day.
50-90/35-60 - This indicates Hypotension (low blood pressure) and you should inform your doctor of your findings so further testing can be done.
91-99/61-64 - This is normal for trained athletes, and for minors (kids). If you don't qualify as either, this is also considered Hypotension, but not indicative of needing treatment.
100-130/65-85 - This is the ideal blood pressure
131-140/85-90 - This is what is called a "high normal" or "borderline", it's still worth informing your doctor, and you should continue to monitor your blood pressure to make sure it doesn't increase beyond this point.
141-159/91-99 - This is considered Hypertension (high blood pressure) but is not quite at the point where it needs treatment, unless your doctor believes otherwise. It is wise to inform your doctor of this average, and discuss ways to lower your BP without medication, while you still can.
160-180/91-110 - This average more often than not requires medical intervention in the way of blood-pressure lowering and balancing medication.
180+/111+ - If your average is in this area, your first step should be to call your doctor. Your second step should be to go to the ER. It may seem to some like that would be jumping the gun, but the ER will be able to prescribe you some medication that will assist you in balancing your BP until your general practitioner is able to see you. An average this high is indicative of extreme Hypertension and can (and likely will) lead to severe health problems if it is not promptly taken care of.
Your pulse is okay but your BP is too high, see your doctor. Normal pulse ranges from 60-100, and normal blood pressure ranges from 100/70-120/80. If either number is higher than 120/80 you need to see your doctor.
no ... its quite high, go to a doctor and get checked for hypertension

154 is high so yes it is classified as high reading
151 is the systolic pressure , which is the amount of pressure in mm of mercury against the walls of the arteries when the heart beats, the 58 is the same for when the heart is at rest, or between beats. 151/58 may mean you have slightly high BP, you took it at a time when it was higher than normal like after smoking, or you did not know how to take it correctly. If it is constantly elevated you need to adjust your diet, exercise and consider seeing your MD.
