It is more likely an STD or a UTI. More input from others: * I don't think so. It sounds like you could have a urinary track infection or possible STD. You could also have kidney stones I would contact a doctor.

Do you feel you need to urinate often even though you may not actually urinate much? Can you see protein or blood in your urine? You may just have a urinary tract infection which is best fixed with antibiotics. Until then drink cranberry juice to ease this. (Note: Urinary tract infections are common in people that have recently started in a new sexual relationship, to stop getting repeat infections remember to go the bathroom after sex each time)

Pain, burning, and frequency are symptoms associated with a urinary tract infection. You can, however, get transient (short-lasting) symptoms similar to this if your urethra is irritated, so if you think that's a possibility, you could wait 24 hours to see if it improves. If it's really bad, though, and especially if you have blood in your urine, see a doctor, who can look at your urine under a microscope for signs of infection. If you do wait, drink cranberry juice every few hours to help with the symptoms and maybe even slow down the infection.
