They are cutting into you....????? A discogram is a diagnostic test performed to view and assess the internal structure of a disc and determine if it is a source of pain. HOW IS IT DONE? The patient is given intravenous medication as a relaxant and pain reliever. A local anesthetic is injected into the patient's skin in the area that is being examined. A needle is inserted through a previously placed needle in the skin and into the disc under fIuoroscopy. A saline solution and radiopaque dye are injected into the disc or discs if more than one disc is being examined. A CT scan is usually performed on the painful disc after the dye is injected to obtain images of the dye distribution. This will demonstrate anular tears, scarring, disc bulges and changes in the nucleus of the disc. EXPECTED RESULTS: Recreation of painful symptoms if the disc/discs is abnormal. Confirmation of a diagnosis and/or determination of which disc/discs is the source of pain. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? Thirty minutes plus an additional thirty minutes if a CT is indicated plus recovery time of several hours. Copied from the website below http://www.spinalinjection.com/ISIS/pes/disco.htm sur

Coping with Life After Surgery?

Surgery is nothing to be entered into lightly, and you should really take any type of surgical procedure very seriously. After the surgery is all said and done, you need to remember that you can't just spring back into life as usual right off the bat. It takes a while to let yourself ease back into life after surgery, and you need to let that reality into your thought process. Life after surgery isn't all doom and gloom, though. Over time, your body will recuperate to the point where you can start moving around as though the surgery never happened.

Does Kinesiology cure?

Should i see the video recording of ear cropping surgery?

If you are considering getting your dog's ears cropped then perhaps you should see the video so that you know exactly what your dog will be going through. You may find that the procedure is better than you thought and put your mind at ease, or may make you decide not to go through with surgery. You should definitely get a full understanding of the operation before deciding whether to crop or not.

What should I do--She's stuck in my head?

Don't worry, one round of brain surgery and you'll be fine. It also might be solved by communication, rather than surgery... but just a thought. :)

Is a colonoscopy a surgical procedure?

A colonoscopy is not a mandatory procedure as part of a general health exam. However, it is recommended for men and women reaching the age of fifty to have one. A colonoscopy is an examination of the large and small bowel with a fibre-optic camera inserted via the rectum. The procedure need not be painful. Some patients are given tranquillisers in advance and some people actually sleep through the process. Your GP may have recommended a colonoscopy if you have had symptoms of haemorrhoids or rectal/bowel discomfort. A colonoscopy can remove any existing polyps or colorectal cancer lesions for biopsy, and to determine if they are precancerous.

Is there an age limit at which most plastic surgeons will perform surgery?

I thought there would be an age limit but you're never too old to have plastic surgery. People have surgery well into their sixties and seventies, so it really all depends on what kind of overall health a person is in.
