Child support is paid by the parents. It is a court awarded decision where one parent contributes a stipulated amount of money to keep the minor(s) in the life style to which they have become accustomed to. It is paid by one parent thru the courts to the parent who has custody of the minors. Its purpose is to pay for the expenses incurred by the minor in the custodial household. For example if a single parent family home there is one adult and three minors. That is a total of four individuals in one home. each individual is responsible for 1/4 of the expenses occurred in the house. The three minors would make up a total of 3/4 of the expenses such as rent, electricity, gas, telephone, etc. So if each child is awarded 200$ a month, that is a total of 600$ a month. That 600$ is supposed to pay for the household expenses, groceries, clothing, lunch money, bus fare, and all other necessities for maintaining the minor(s).

Answer:If a minor have a child it's the minor's responsibility to pay for said child. Both parents of the child of course, even if both are minors. The grandparents are not obligated to pay for their grandchild. They still have to pay for their own child though.

You think you should be let off the hook because you are under the age of 20? Doesn't work that way. If you are old enough to father a child, you are old enough to pay to take care of it.

In the vast majority of cases you will have to pay child support for your child..If you are under the age of 18 then your own parents may be responsible for making your payments...

There are only a few special exceptions under the basis of age that you would not have to pay child support...An example would be say that you are a 14 year old male and in your state age 16 is the legal age to consent to sex and your girlfriend was 17 and became pregnant..Under the law you were not old enough to legally consent to sex and your girlfriend committed a crime by doing so..then it is possible that she would be arrested and charged with the crime and child support would not be ordered...

If a minor becomes a minor-parent, they are liable for child support to their child. Check your state laws.

That would not exempt the minor child's father from paying support.

Do you have to pay Child Support if you have 4 kids and one of the kids is with the non custodial parent?

You have to pay child support for any of your children that does not live with you. So if you have 3 kids that live with you and one kid that lives with your ex you would be responsible for paying child support for the one child that lives with your ex. However, you only have to pay, legally, when a court has ordered you to. If your ex is paying child support for the three kids that live with you a court could order a reduction in child support that he/she has to pay to you instead of you having to pay child support to him/her.
