true, floating ribs are a removable, pair of ribs at the bottom of your rib cage that do not attach with the other ribs. some people get them removed for their own personal reasons.
It is a real rib, the bottom rib, and can be manipulated to act like a pressure point if one knows how. The pain isn't severe, but it's startling.
