yes it is a bit but a mini gun has a motor which means no one has to spin a lever and the motor makes thebarrels spin much faster which let more bullets come out but the Gatling gun had no motor the thing that made it fire was a man turning a handle which spins the barrels but you did not have much ammo in the magazine and it over heated very easily and it was transported around like an artillery cannon.so yes a mini gun is the new Gatling gun but better and modern
