I emailed SC Johnson because I could not find this chemical name anywhare either.

:)

Dear Heidi,

Thank you for asking about Ammonia-D® found in some of our Windex® products. We always appreciate hearing from our consumers.

Ammonia-D® is the trademark name for the ammonia in Windex®. The 'D' is part of the trademark name.

While your email did not indicate which Windex® product you were asking about, you should be aware that most of our Windex® products are glass and surface cleaners only, and not all formulas contain ammonia. If you would like to clean and disinfect/sanitize your surfaces, I would recommend using Windex® Antibacterial Cleaner. This product kills 99.9% of household bacteria in seconds, including:

- Klebsiella pneumoniae

- Listeria monocytogenes

- Staphylococcus aureuas (Staph)

- Streptococcus pyogenes (Strep)

- Enterobacter aerogenes

- Escherichia coli (E. coli)

- Salmonella enterica (Salmonella)

I hope this information will be helpful to you, and invite you to visit www.windex.com to learn more about all of our Windex® products.

I have happily sent a full value complimentary coupon to the address provided, for you to try Windex® Antibacterial. We hope you enjoy using this coupon.

If you have future comments or questions, please e-mail us again at www.scjbrands.com.

Regards,

Margaret
