Is an online relationship possible to last a lifetime?

I believe that long distance/online relationships can last and have as good a chance as any relationship. I married my long distance partner - I am based in England, he was based in Australia - a year ago after a two year email realtionship and 3 visits. The benefit of email/webcam/phonecalls is that you spend time talking and probably actually communicate much more than couples who spend every day together. We adore each other and can honestly say that we were truly great friends before the physical realtionship started and still are. We are moving to Australia this year and I feel absolutely certain that I have met my perfect match and soul mate. Good luck to anyone comtemplating a long distance romance but if it feels right, then it will great - no matter what anyone else says!
