Not to my knowledge. I do have a .32 rimfire pistol with a little over 100 rounds of ammo for it. It does shoot but I don't shoot it anymore for the simple reason that you can't get any more ammo for it.

Because there are problems with using a rimfire cartridge, (reliabilty of feeding) and the .22 mag does not have the range or power of a centerfire cartridge.
Not really, if it was a problem for anyone it would be the south in the end. The south at the end of the war would have virtually no factories for ammunitions, while the union had no problem getting ammunition because they had so many factories.
