∙ 15y agoYes it is and let me explain how. The main threats that concern the immune system come from germs, also known as bacteria or viruses. But fungi and other parasites can also threaten health. When any of those "invaders" try to break into your body, the immune system kicks in to either prevent their entry or, failing that, to seek them out and destroy them. Unfortunately, the immune system sometimes misinterprets threats and ends up causing disease, rather than preventing it. This can include asthma, Allergies, Arthritis, and other disorders. I know this because I have done a lot of research on Respiratory system problems due to I have Chronic Asthma.

∙ 13y agoThe body's defense to asthma is to close up the airways therefore making it more difficult to breath. The body does this because it senses that an allergen or toxin has entered the body and it is trying to stop it from continueing throughout the body.
