Answer
There are three places in the Republic of Ireland called Blackrock.
- One is a village in County Louth, located to the south of the town of Dundalk.
- Another is a village in County Cork which is also considered a suburb of Cork city. Blackrock Castle is located here.
- The third is a town in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown administrative section of County Dublin. Even though Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown has its own council, and is a county-level entity, it's still overseen by the Dublin Regional Authority, as are Fingal, South Dublin, and the Dublin City Council. Similarly, postal addresses for this city still use 'County Dublin', rather than 'County Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown'.
