That is not always true i have been on the depo for almost 4 years now and i still get it when i am about a week to a week and a half away from my next shot And it never fails, thats how i know when i need to go get it. So i will say that it all really depends on the persons who is getting to shot.

I used to alwys wonder about the spotting as well. I was on the shot for about 8 years, and I did spot a lot the first few years. Then it happened every once in a while. I finally figured out that I only spotted when I got stressed.

8 years? my gyno said 4 years is tops for depo not to damage you in some way... I have been on it for a total of 4 and and getting off and I had spotting the first 3 injections (1st yr) and nothing after that. Now i am having the same brown spotting horrible cramps and have been off depo for 5 months for the first time in 3yrs i am spotting so everyone is different.

Yes I agree, I have been on the Depo for about 2 yrs and I've noticed too the when your spotting brown its because your stressed. Or sometimes it is because you are adjusting to the changes that the shot are making you have.

i am 19 years old and have been on depo for about three years and i have been extremly stressed out latley because of school and a few other things and i just started to cramp really bad and spot but i am also taking ALOT of different viatims to make my hair grow so i wasn't sure if that was it i don't know but i am definatley getting off depo it has made me go from a size 3 to a size 11 and its been impossible to lose weight on the shot even while taking diet pills.... my gyno said that every shot is ten pounds ... so i would never recommend the shot to anybody
