Is brown spotting common while on depo-provera?
Answer:
Hello :)
I have been a Planned Parent Hood Nurse for 10 years now. Every women is different. Some do some don't. I do not recommend the Depo shot, not alot of us nurses do. There are many different side affects alot of people are not happy about after receiving the shot, if you have received the shot they should have gave you a pamphlet listing the side effects. Alot of women do not like the after effect. Being you do not have your period during the shot a majority of women have had there period for up to 3 months following the shot. Another disadvantage of the Depo is that women have to wait up to 6 moths to a year to conceive a baby. It is much harder during those months.

i started the depo in December of 08. i started brown-spotting in feb 09, right after i took the second shot. it is now almost September 09, and i still have this. its very light, but frequent, and i stopped getting it. its been almost 6 months since i got it and i am very worried. you see, this problem keeps me from having sex because its very embarrassing, and i thnk its a total ripoff. THATS why you don't get pregnant, you have horrible side effects! and im not worried at all about the brown being a disease because, again, i havent had sex since January. i need help with this question, too!
