Should bullying be a criminal offense?

yes bullying is abuse and all abuse is illegal.

Not all police don't like to deal with minors when bullying is involved, they fob you off with they just children, but they do and by law they should do

think of it this way, if two adults get into a fight in town or at home, that's braking the law and the police will come out and arrest who ever is doing the abusing.

if a person is just harass or verbally abused its still abuse and its also against the law. any of the of the following, mental physical/sexual abuse/emotional or financially its abuse the the abuser can get arrested.

If you are being bullied you must report it straight away you must not shout back in rebellion or fight back, as this will give you more grounds for the police to deal with it

Police do not like to arrest minor under 10 but can do if severe enough cases.

if the police do not take action see a solicitor they can also take action on your behalf with the police for not dealing with it and also with the schools and the housing to the parents of the bullies, The police are trying to tighten up on anti social behavior this includes bullying 1 of the 6 children was 5 oldest being 8 who assaulted my child after they harassing my child trashed the garden carrying on verbally all and trashing our garden all issues are police matters but they did advice if my child provoke them in anyway it makes it harder to know who started it and take action how ever when in a public place and a bully starts you can shout bullies name e.g. Fred why are you bullying me just leave me alone this can get peoples attention either to intervenes or at least gone forward for a statement if police need this also take not of time and who is about etc to help the police enquires but at no circumstances do you rebel or you don't have much of a case the other thing is you can always call the police whilst your phone is out of sight allowing the police to here were you are and who is bullying you they can track your call but whilst the police are on the call they can hear and record it all hope this help also if your unhappy with school there is always the choice of home education i am home educating my child and we love it for more information Yahoo groups home education UK and education everywhere

PS you can report a crime months after the events the police may just warn them off and log it but every report even verbal or following you etc is logged and that helps build a case for you they can even take the parents to court or evict them if the parents don't deal with the re child who is bullying also any child stood watching a bullying taking place is conspiring to commit that same crime.

Here in Montana there is not and never has been any law prohibiting bullying. I believe we are the last state in the US without laws making bullying a crime. Other types of abuse are criminal here, just not bullying.

Yes. Bullying is very bad and can cause depression. All they do is lower people's self esteem and confidence. We do not need those kind of people in this world.

I also belive bullying is wrong, It should be illegal.
